"Ahhhh," Quinn let out a large sigh as she stepped out of Professor Pine's lab. As the door shut behind her, she slung her backpack over her shoulder. Then, she turned her head left, looked towards the ground, and focused on the Abra near her feet. "You smell that, Weyr?"
The Pokemon, slowly getting used to the name, looked back towards her, almost as if he was confused. "...Ab?" The small creature inquired in an incomprehensible language. This left Quinn to answer her own question; "That's the smell of opportunity! Nothing can stop us; you and me, Weyr, we are a team. Friends till the end! Don't you forget that, okay?" As she spoke, her green eyes gazed kindly through her glasses.
After having walked no more than fifty feet down the road, following signs pointing towards Aura Town, Quinn knelt beside Weyr. "I understand you're probably tired. Abras tend to sleep a lot, don't they?" With that, she scooped the tiny Pokemon into her arms and continued walking Northeast.
There were patches of tall, prairie-like grasses, numerous bushes, and many trees, both enormous and tiny. The path was so old and worn that it almost seemed natural. "I forgot places like this existed outside of books," she spoke silently and, though accompanied by a Pokemon, most likely to herself. Quinn, with a nearly sleeping Abra in her arms, took in yet another deep breath. A smile appeared on her face; though faint, it was genuine.
