A young girl was nearly bursting with happiness as she reached the Pokemon Lab, because her dreams were finally going to begin. Ever since she was five she had been dreaming of this time, this experiance.
Their was no doubt in her heart about what she wanted to do, though their was confusion about what kind of Pokemon she wanted.
"Oh! Oh! Which one?" Ayame Niko talked to herself, thinking as well. "I mean, this is an important choice!"
Ayame's smile never faded from her face as she knocked on the Lab's front doors. Barely able to stand still.
"This is going to be...awesome."

After a few minutes, the large wooden door glided open. Standing on the opposite side of Ayame was Professor Pine, completely out of breath. "Sorry about that. I was out back researching the habits of a wild Pikachu." He adjusted his glasses and gestured for the girl to come in. Once she had, he gently closed the door behind her.
"Well, as you know, my name is Professor Pine, and it is my job to give out starter Pokémon for all the new trainers." He nodded and sat on his black swivel chair towards the back. "Please, have a seat." He leaned foward and spoke to Ayame. "But there's something I need to know of you. Is there any type or specific species that you would like? Here in the Nahra Region, we have many!"

Ayame laced her fingers together, her thumbs pursing together, her shoes tapping swiftly on the ground creating a consistant tapping noise. She was one impatient girl, but how could one wait, when pondered the thought of getting their first pokemon? To Ayame, it was like recieving a gold medal, ok, maybe a bronze medal that you had you had to train to gold.
Whatever it didn't matter to Ayame, at least not right now.
As Professor Pine opened the door, Ayame was afraid of any sudden urges of verbal outbust, so she attempted to calm down. Attempted being the keyword here, mind you. "That's alright."
Was the first thing she said as Ayame walked inside the Lab, the excitement building up again. "Whoa, this place is super cool." Nearly jumping where she stood, the young beginner took a seat, Ayame tried to pay attention to the Professor. It was being in school all over again. She snickered inwardly at this thought.
"Oh...Types? Species? Uhm. I never thought of that....." She rested her elbows on her knees, and her chin in the palm of her hands as if she was thinking. "Hmm. Which ones do you think are the coolest?"
Only good to get a good word from a professional, right?

The Professor shook his head and took a pen out from behind his right ear. He twiddled it around in his fingers, revealing the writing. It read: 'Pokéhouse Diner; Nahra's Finest.' On the line directly beneathe it, more words were printed. '313 Main St, Aura Town, 56573.' "Well, I cannot really say. I don't really have a particular attatchment to just one type or species." He clicked the button on top of the pen repeatedly whilst speaking, "I could give you a few of the 'better' starters, if you would like me to."
He tossed the pen jsut a few inches away from him on the desk and stood up, now towering over the girl in the chair. "I will be right back." With that, he turned around and slipped a set of keys off of a hook on the wall. "Shouldn't take more than a minute." He smiled as he stuck one of the dozen or so keys into the lock on the back room. He pushed lightly on the door, turned inside, and flicked on a light switch. Hundreds of Pokéballs were strewn throughout the room; some in boxes and most on the shelves. Once in awhile the occassional egg could be spotted.
After nearly a minute, the lights went off and the contents of the room seemed to disappear again. "Here we are." He closed and locked the door behind him, replacing the keys on the wall as he approached Ayame. "Now, I've picked out what I believe to be the most loyal, quick-learning, and fun-loving Pokémon." He set the three Pokéballs in a line in front of the girl. "I've chosen a Poliwag, a Water-type, an Oddish, a Grass-type, and the Fire-type, Magby. I've thought it over, and I believe these three would be the best 'match' for you. Now---which would you like?" Before allowing the girl to respond, he hastily added, "You don't have to chose any of these, of course. I just assumed they'd 'fit you' best."

Ayame sat, while millions of thoughts obscured her mind.
Which type....?! What will it look like.....?! Maybe a cute one....?! Or a really strong one....?!
Ayame really was a subject for possible ADD, but at least she was open minded, yeah? Better then having a stuck-up stubborn brat. Twirling with a dark lock of hair from underneath her hat, Ayame tilted her head at the writing on the pen.
Aura town....? Isn't that the next one over....?
The Professor's voice snapped the young girl out of her thoughts, and focus her sapphire coloured eyes on him, those eyes lit up with pure joy when he mentioned 'better starters.'
"Really? Better? Oh! Awesome!" Ayame clapped her hands together in delight. Wasn't she the lucky one?
While she waited, yet more thoughts poured into her mind.
Oh! Can the destroy houses? Or maybe control someone's mind? Or...or...or...
Looking intently at the three Pokeballs, Ayame was a bit disapointed at hearing the names.
Oddish....? Poliwag....? Don't those Pokemon don't have arms? They can't crush houses. Magby? Like....Magmar?
She shuddered at the thought, Magmars nor Magbys appealed to her. But the other two, they would evolve with arms...right? And, he said they were better, and he was a professional and all.
"Oh! Oh! This choice is so hard...." Ayame scruntched up her nose. Slowly her mind fought over a choice, until a light-bulb went off, a choice was made.
"Okay! I know now. I want....Poliwag!" A smile spread across her face. This wouldn't be too bag, Poliwags were cute after all, same with Politoads and whatnot.
Okay, maybe she's just a little single-minded.

"Alright." The Professor nodded and took the two outer Pokéballs away. "Poliwag it is." He picked up the Water-type's Pokéball and tossed it into the air. "Go, Poliwag!" And with a flash of crimson light, the dark blue creature appeared. It stared up at the girl with a look of awe on its face. It was happy, yet surprised. Why'd she pick it over all of the others? Regardless of the thought, it bounded forward and leapt up at Ayame. -----Congratulations, Ayame has obtained a Poliwag!----- Name: ? ? ? Gender: Male Species: Poliwag Level: 8 Attacks: -Water Sport -Bubble -Hypnosis -----Congratulations, Ayame has obtaiend a Starter Pack!----- 5000 ND 1 Pokéball 1 Potion 3 Berries

The sight of the small water-tadpole Pokemon, Ayame's expression was obviously happiness. As it jumped into her arms, the thought of doubt was washed away. This was the best choice.
"You're so cute!" Ayame cooed. Even if it was a male, it was still cute regardless of gender. "Mizu? I wonder of that name would do...? Sounds a bit girlish."
But still it made sense afterall, being Mizu meaning water.
"Oh! And thanks so much Professor!" Putting the contents of the starter pack in her sling-around-shoulder pack, Ayame left the Lab.
This was only the beginning.
