The End of the Beginning

Tyler walked up to the lab doors, his hands stuffed in his pockets. "Let's see...I think I know what pokemon I'll have.." Tyler nodded, knocking on the door. He was pretty excited, starting his new journey and all.

[Et Cetera]

The Professor opened the door after only a few seconds. "Ah, come in. I've been expecting some more trainers." He smiled and lead Tyler into the back of the lab. He sat on a swivel chair behind a counter and notioned for the boy to sit on the opposite side. "You're here for your first Poémon, yes. But what'll it be?"

Tyler sat down and scratched his head. "Well..I've always been a fan of Croagunk. Do you have any?" He asked politely, twidling his thumbs.

[Et Cetera]

"Yes," The Professor stood from his chair and turned to take a ring of keys off of the wall, "as a matter-of-fact, we do." He turned back to Tyler and smiled. "I will be right back." He shoved the key into the lock and undid it, stepping inside the backroom. "Ah....no...no..." He sorted through a box labeled "NEW," but didn't seem to be having any luck. "Wait! No...nevermind..." After another minute, he stepped out with a Pokéball. "Alrighty, then. Go, Croagunk!" In a flash of red light, the frog-like Pokémon appeared. "Crooaa." It hopped towards Tyler and stared at his face.

"Cool, hey there." Tyler pet the small frog and thought for a moment. "Your name is Tar" He said, nodding. He took the Starter Pack, and almost dashed out the door. He stopped for a moment. "Thank you professor!" He said before leaving.
