Character's Name:
Isaac William Gant
Gender:
Male
Age:
Eighteen
Hometown:
Pewter City, Kanto Region
Description:
Isaac stands at a good 6’ 1”, with a lithe but some-what lanky build. He has cheek-bone length black hair, which is generally messy and unkempt, though he does generally take the time to dye in streaks of lighter grey. His eyes are pale grey, almost unnaturally so, due mostly to color blindness. His skin is normally darkly tanned, as he spends most of his time outside.
As far as clothing goes, Isaac generally wears darker colors. Normally he can be found with a grey tee-shirt or sweatshirt and black pants, held up by a simple black belt, where he also stores pokeballs and other smaller equipment. He also wears black fitted gloves and black tennis shoes, as well as a green coat that runs down to his knees. Depending entirely on the weather and what he is doing, he might wear a scarf or a hat, though he can usually button up his coat if it gets too cold.
Personality:
Isaac is a smug young man who seems to always be sure of what he is doing. However arrogant, he is not rash, and will carefully plan out things in ahead to ensure that nothing will go wrong. He works best under pressure, carefully but quickly considering various factors in whatever he is doing. These traits make him a good tactician, which is most likely why he seems to excel in battles.
Around other people, Isaac mostly keeps to himself, unless he feels that he must say something, either to correct someone else, throw in a piece of information that might be useful, or simply to remind those present that he is probably better than they are. However, with friends he is slightly different and treats them well, remaining loyal to them unless significant proof is presented to him that spending time around that person or persons is not in his best interests.
Around enemies, Isaac is cool and somewhat sarcastic, never missing a chance to demean his opponent. His arrogance flares here, although he makes sure to keep himself in check, lest he become too cocky and do something foolish.
History:
Isaac grew up the eldest son in a family of four, the only boy out of the group. Most of his childhood was spent around the Pewter City Museum, where his father worked as a researcher. While he was there, he found out that he had a huge interest in fossil pokemon. His fondest memories were of when his father would allow him to play with fossils that had been brought back to life, and he developed a close bond with a kabuto. Of course, him being allowed to spend time around the fossil pokemon was against the museums rules, though his father never really cared.
When Isaac was nine, his friend the kabuto, who he had named Montresor, was sent to a different research facility. The boy was heartbroken, and stopped spending any time around the museum at all. Though his interest in prehistoric pokemon remained, he now spent all of his time with his head in books, reading about them instead of spending any time around them.
Isaac spent a few more years at home, deciding against getting a trainer license at age ten because he simply didn’t want to. He waited for five more years, spending most of this time at various schools, where he excelled at his studies, and took time to remind those around him how good he was. The boy also worked at a local pokemart for a while, so that he could earn some money to buy more books. Reading was his main hobby those days.
When he turned fifteen, Isaac left his hometown and traveled to the Nahra Region, not telling his friends and family why. He simply did it. There, he took on a pokemon and became a trainer, his knowledge of pokemon and an additional five years of schooling that most other trainers lacked helping him greatly. He soon received a note about Team Opal. While he considered himself above petty crimes, he found himself interested in the team itself, and decided to join it.
Other:
Isaac is a member of Team Opal. He is also mostly colorblind, with a strong fondness of fossil pokemon.
((I’m not entirely sure how this works for Opal Members, so I’m just throwing this out here.))
