Regina: Yay! Let's get this party started. :D And don't worry...I will. Haha!
A large crowd gathered today, filling the seats of the stadium, eager for a battle. Their voices blended in a deafening roar that wrapped around the field like a cyclone; bright sets of scorching hot lights focused their beams on the opposing trainers and the space between them, lighting the place up till their shadows were penned directly beneath their feet. At one end stood Regina, wearing a bright yellow tee shirt with a large, abstract picture of an simple, open birdcage and a pidgey flying out of it: a black belt with lightning bolts running around it: ripped up, faded, blue jeans: and black moon boots. Her hair was up in a messy bun, out of her way, and on her face was a smile on her usually blank face. Next to her was her overgrown, cruel looking Charmeleon, with his leathery blood red skin and raging firey tail. He seemed to be grinning as well, though with a crazy, mischievous tilt to it. Though he was a few levels lower than Charles's Pokemon, and probably not as fast, he made up for it in his larger size. And the tricky part was that they both knew the same moves and there was no type advantage. So it would all be in performance and luck. The announcer's voice echoed out over the crowd's noise, introducing the two. Charmeleon shuddered with anticipation, baring his fangs.

Charles stared up in the stands surrounding them. "Alright..." He whispered to a Pokéball, which he tossed towards the sky, summoning his Fire-type. The creature appeared, revealing itself to be slightly taller and a lot more heavily built than the norm. Barring it's sharp teeth and razor-like claws, it stared towards it's opponent; another Charmeleon. With a short gasp, it clenched it's eyes a bit and watched with anticipation.
"Let's start this off with a Dragon Rage!" With just a nod, the large, red lizard bolted forwards in an attempted Dragon Rage. "Meleon, Char!" It launched the attack---hoping for the best as they seemed to be evenly matched, for the most part.

Charmeleon hunched his shoulders and stuck his neck out, baring his teeth. Regina issued out the order and he ran right for the foe as Charles's fire lizard let loose Dragon Rage. Not even flinching he rocketed as close as possible, through the flame like dragon attack, and swung his gnarled fists, wicked claws aiming to tear up the other Charmeleon in a Scratch attack.

Shocked as his opponent charged through the bright flames from Dragon Rage, Charmeleon didn't even have time to react and back away from the Scratch attack. Instead, it was slashed across the chest, leaving a visible mark. "Char, Meleon, Char!" It glared, unleashing a close-range Smokescreen to try to either suffocate the attacking Charmeleon, or at least keep it away for a short period of time. Lowering it's accuracy wasn't that bad, either.

Charmeleon fought off the urge to cough, as he held his breath and closed his watering eyes from the stinging smoke. Relying on his hearing as he tried to find a way out of the suffocating cloud and not get caught by surprise. Reggie called out and he followed the sound of her voice, taking a deep gulp of fresh air once he was free of the rancid smog. Clearing his senses, his eyes narrowed and his head swayed from side to side like a snake, searching for the prey. Upon spotting him he bounded forward and tried, brutishly, to scratch at the other Charmeleon's face with big, boxer-like swings of his fists.

Charmeleon couldn't help but tip backwards after just the first time it was struck with it's opponents fist. "Charmeleon, Char! Charm!" It winced, rolling onto away from Reggie's Fire-type. He stood up quickly, charging forward at Charles' comman. As it drew close enough, it fiercely pulled it's clawed fist down as to slash across Reggie's Pokémon's chest. "Char..." It glared at it menacingly, then jogged away to keep out of it's reach. For now, anyway.

Charmeleon twisted and the claws raked at the side of his body, leaving jagged grooves in his flesh. Hissing, bits of flame flickered out of his mouth, he ran after as if preparing for another Scratch attack but at the last second spun three hundred and sixty degrees, using his tail to trip the foe. If Charles's Charmeleon managed to dodge, he backed up his plan with a close range Dragon Rage attack. If he didn't dodge and was tripped, Charmeleon would piledrive his elbow into the fallen foe's stomach. The strategic effect of that being: Charles's Charmeleon would be winded and it would be harder for him to produce any nonphysical attacks such as Ember and Dragon Rage.

Instinctively, Charmeleon leapt into the air as it's opponent's tail went swinging beneath it. What it didn't see coming was the bright flames of the Dragon Rage, which sent him hurling backwards through the air. "Char!" He growled, hitting the ground once before flipping quickly onto his feet.
To counter the attack, Charmeleon charged forward, his right arm in the air as if going to use a Scratch attack. Instead, as he drew just a foot or so away, he unleashed a Dragon Rage of his own. If successful, it would, at the very least, buy him some time while he recooperates and attacks again.

Charmeleon jumped back at the last second, well out of reach for the Scratch attack but not for the unexpected Dragon Rage attack. He dug his feet in the ground and crouched to keep from flying back as the flames hit. Wincing and shuddering, he coughed and thick black smoke began to pour out from his mouth, enveloping the area. Darting around till he was behind the foe, he reached forward to wrap his arms around the other fire lizard's neck and choke him.

Both dazed and confused by the sudden veil, Charmeleon whipped about trying to see through the thick, black, Smokescreen. It's efforts were useless, as it's opponent had already came up behind him and wrapped his arm around his neck. "Char!" It began moving about violently, losing more valuable oxygen after each passing second. "Meeeel!" It eventually began to tire itself out, that is, until it had a great idea.
Charles' Charmeleon, although in his opponent's grasp, stuck his tail up and into the other Charmeleon's mouth. And, without missing a beat, it engulfed it's tail in more flame than ever in an attempt to cause severe damage to Regina's Pokémon. Or, at the very least, suffocate him, too.

The flames barely hurt the fire lizard, but in according to the science of fire, it burned up all the oxygen around at a startling pace. Charmeleon began feeling light headed, his bruising grip loosened slightly around the foe's neck, and after a feeble gasp to find his breath, he bit down on the offending tail savagely and yanked to pull the other Charmeleon off his balance. His eyes widened with surprise when the firey tail began to cause pain. As his lips and tongue started drying and cracking, flecks of blood flew as he spat the tail out. Then he paused to cough up a little more blood, then wiped his mouth with a heavy paw and glared at the other. The smoke still hid them from view much to the frustration of their trainers but it was beginning to thin.

Charles' Pokémon couldn't help but let out a chuckle as the other of it's kind began to gasp as he himself had done before. But, what it hadn't anticipated was the opposing Charmeleon to chomp down on his tail. When that occurred, Charmeleon immediately whipped around and began slashing at the enemy in an all-out Scratch attack frenzy. "Meleon!" He growled angrily, eventually getting his tail back, but to his dispare, with slits where the other fire lizard had bitten him.
Now, completely enraged, it used another Dragon Rage on Reggie's Pokémon. However, having been strangled, the flames were difficult to produce. Regardless, an array of fire managed to find itself nearing it's target.

Charmeleon blocked a few of the hits, but in the end, patches of his skin was in shreds. The pain kept him alert, and he countered the Dragon Rage attack with one of his own, resulting in a small explosion that pushed him back a bit. His arms flew up in front of his face to pretect it while the dust settled and with it, the rest of the Smokescreen. Reg ordered and Charmeleon complied, running up to the foe then falling back, holding himself up by his tail while he raised both feet for a kick to the fire lizard's stomach. Foot claws ready to gouge.

Astonished at the counter attack, and pushed back by the explosion, Charmeleon's arms quickly went to his own face for protections. Not a moment after the dust and debris settled to the ground, Charmeleon was on guard again, but it wasn't quite enough to prevent himself from being raised into the air by the foe. With a look of shock and disgust, Charle's Fire-type took the kick to the stomach, which immediately began to excrete blood.
Out of both pain and shock, he looked up towards Reggie's Pokémon and attemped to force a Smokescreen attack into his eyes. If the plan worked, the foe would be forced to drop him, leaving him free to spin counter-clockwise, knock his opponent over with his tail, and then slash up at his face with a Scratch attack.

Charmeleon squeezed his eyes shut with an angry hiss and waved at the air around his eyes with his hands, dropping the foe. His eyes weren't even able to open yet when he felt something trip him and he fell. Quickly, still blinded, he rolled on his stomach and curled up so only his back was exposed. All he could see was darkness, ash and soot crusting over his eyes; Charles's Charmeleon leapt on with with a Scratch attack and he promptly uncurled a little and jabbed both his elbows back, aiming for the stomach, which would be vulnerable after his last attack.

Charmeleon, after bounding into the air, realized his mistake. Scratching Reggie's Charmeleon would keep his stomach open for further muthilation. If he didn't attack, he'd be lying on the ground even more vulnerable. So, he took both elbows to the got, was winded, and fell off sideways. And, in a desperate attempt to keep Reg's Pokémon from attacking him, he used a combination of Dragon Rage and Ember to spit out a multi-colored puff of fire. It was really more of a 'warning shot,' but would hurt, none-the-less.

Charmeleon pushed himself up, unable to see, walking through the flames, looming over the fallen. The attack injured him, but he barely felt it through the other agonies that riddled his body and devoured his strength. He just followed the flames to the source, and reached forward to wrap a hand around the foe's mouth to clamp it shut. His brain was on a single minded mission, to stop the other fire lizard from hurting him again, starting with that annoying flame combination.
Reg was on edge, it was a close fight. They were a pretty even match. She didn't worry about her Pokemon, because even through the pain, she saw his excitement and child like happiness while battling his best. This was what he was predestined to do.

Charmeleon's flame-breath rapidly ceased after having his mouth clamped shut, but even that didn't didn't stop him from trying his best. Without truly having the thought go through his mind, he tumbled backwards onto his feet, pushed the foe's arm away, and swung his arm around in an attempted punch to his face. And, as a precaution, he swung his tail around as well, again attempting to do some sort of damage to the Charmeleon with that.

Charmeleon felt the opponent flex and knew he was preparing to punch, so he kept a cruel latch on the foe's mouth and yanked to keep him off balance. The punch clipped the side of his head and he saw stars. Grabbing with his other hand onto Charmeleon to keep his balance, the other spun unexpectedly and Charmeleon staggered. Losing grip but then regaining his footing and swinging his head forward to try and headbutt the foe in the face.

Charmeleon was unprepared for the headbutt, therefore allowing the foe to smash the bottom of his jaw up and push his head back. "Charmeleon, Char." He growled angrily, regaining his balance in the process. Again, using strategy, the fire lizard spun around, raised his leg, and attempted to kick the other of his species below the neck, and followed that with his tail. If one didn't work, hopefully the other would.

Charmeleon got hit with the foot, but went down into a push-up and dodged the tail. He stayed there for a moment before the whooshing sound over his head stopped and he heard the panting of his opponent. Things were still, the foe was back on his feet. The fire lizard lay on his belly and thrust forward so he shot between the other's legs and appeared behind him. Leaping up, he closed his fists around the tail and tried to swing Charmeleon around by this appendage faster and faster.

Taking the spin as an advantage, Charmeleon used a Smokescreen, which quickly spread do to the centripital force. The Fire-type hoped that some of the black smog would find its way into the eyes or repiratory system of his foe, as it would probably result in its letting go. Once free, Charmeleon would use, again, a combination of Dragon Rage and Ember, which seemed to be a personal favorite of his.

Charmeleon was still blind, so the smoke just affected his ability to breath. Gritting his teeth, he swung the foe faster to clear the air around them like a fan. Beginning to feel dizzy, he let go and sent Charles's Pokemon flying. Unable to tell how the foe landed because of a thick ring of smoke surrounding him, he was rather unprepared when the other rebounded quickly with a Dragon Rage and Ember attack. Growling with irritation, he paused, unable to retaliate. The Smokescreen hindered his sense of smell. The soot on his eyes prevented sight. The other fire lizard was too far away to figure out where they were by touch. He strained to hear, his heart pounding madly, blood rushing in his ears. So he waited, if the Charmeleon got close, he would counter with Scratch attack.

Charmeleon, becoming pig-headed now, darted towards the foe with claws bared, ready to strick with his own Scratch attack. However, it hadn't been prepared for Reggie's Pokémon's attack. To top off the powerful attack, he was in his own Smokescreen, now completely blinded by it as well. Angrily, it began slashing rapidly all over, not thinking about what may happen.
"Stop!" Charles commanded, but the lizard continued. "You have to do this strategically, or you will never get through this!" Charles rolled his eyes, watching the Fire-type make his way in the opposite direction. His back is turned...I know what's going to happen now... Charles couldn't help but look towards Reg instead. Regina held her breath. Expecting a trap, Charmeleon kept his guard up but jumped at the opportunity. A follow up Scratch attack would lure him close enough for a counter attack, so he opted for Dragon Rage, which could hurt from a distance. The flame like attack erupted from his open jaws and raced for the foe... Reg looked to Charles's face fro his reaction, and saw him staring back. Great fight. Out of the corner of her eye she saw a Nurse Joy with three Chanseys, waiting off on the sideline, ready to dash in. She suddenly felt cold in the hot stadium, things seemed to slow down around her, though her white-as-a-ghost face remained void of emotion. She blinked, and came back to speed. Just in time for the possibly finishing stroke.

Charles' head tilted downwards, as if ashamed. "You and your Charmeleon put up a great fight, Reg." When he looked up, though, a faint smile had appeared on his face. "NOW!" With a quick nod, the Fire-type opened his mouth and a twisting flame of Ember and Dragon Rage erupted from his mouth. "But we're not going down without a fight!" The very moment he shouted, Charles' attack collided with the other Dragon Rage, which resulted in a gigantic explosion, sending a shockwave and tons of debris and fire in every direction. The burst of energy caused Charles to be pushed backwards, landing about four feet from his original spot. Now, to wait for the smoke to clear...

Ooc:; Ooh you are good. >:3
Bic:; Reg skidded till her back slammed against the inner stadium wall just below box seating, leaving two deep grooves in the floor where her heels dragged. All in a matter of seconds. Her hair half way escaped from the scrunchie holding it up, and the noise from the explosion hadn't all the way quieted. Rumblings shook the place then settled, though the smoke was still smeared all over the field. Cursing under her breath, her eyes were wide as she looked frantically for Charmeleon.
The fire lizard had relaxed every muscle as he was hit by the blast, spreading his limbs out as far as he could reach to absorb the impact. As he landed, he rolled, then stopped...his whole body numb. He told his arms to move, but they wouldn't obey. Briefly he wondered if he was unconcious, even though he could still hear faintly but for a temporary ringing in his ears. "Char?" His voice creaked out with a stray puff of smoke as he slightly opened his mouth. He was still awake, but was unsure if he could still battle. It felt like he was hanging on by a string. Pitifully, he told his arms to move and this time they obliged, so he began dragging himself in the direction he supposed would get him out of the smoke and dust still settling...

Ooc: I try my best. ^^;; Charles scanned the stadium with his emerald-green eyes, his smile having faded long before, searching for his Charmeleon. The worst quickly came to mind: What if he is seriously wounded? Or he fainted and we lost?! Or...or... The blast from the colliding attacks had been very powerful one, so he really had no idea of what had happened. However, through the smoke, he saw a figure emerge. Once the debris had completely settled, his Charmeleon appeared with deep gashes and bruises from where he'd been fiercely scratched and beaten. He appeared to be trembling, and even from a distance, it seemed very noticeable. "That was a great battle, Charmeleon. You deserve a re---" Before Charles could finish, his Pokémon turned around and shot an Ember attack at what seemed like a random place, but was really where the foe should have been by that time. Just a few seconds afterwards, however, he fell to the ground, completely unconcious. Charles: 0% FaintedReggie: 2% -Accuracy
