Sam strode through the many people, trying to reach the room where the coordinators were getting ready. She was carrying Eevee, not wanting the small Pokemon to get lost in so many people. The day before, she had bought a green ribbon and tied it around the Eevee's neck, replacing the collar.
When she entered the room, she found Marisa and Jesse already there. She walked up to them and said, "Good luck to both of you. I'll be watching from the stands." She smiled, thinking of how much better it would be to watch in person than on TV.

Ooc: We should try to get others to come to the Contest. We should get Autumn, Michi, and... err. Someone else? I can always play the part of someone. You could too, if you felt like it.
Jesse turned quickly towards Sam. "Thanks. Have fun watching all of the contestants." He chuckled and looked at the gathering crowds. "This will be a good competition this year..." He saw as a boy, no older than he, walked through the entry. "Hey... I know him..." He shrugged and looked back at his two friends. "Best of luck, Marisa. Best of luck. I hope we can face each other. That'd be quite interesting." He smiled, cleared his throat, turned away, and then began the long phase of contemplating a strategy.

OOC: Yeah, I could bring in some random person or something. That'd be cool. Or I could bring in Kasai, but she'd probably just come to see the trainers(and possibly future competitors!).
Sam nodded and tried not to think about what she would do if both of them ended up in the finals. She shook her head. If it came to that, it wouldn't matter who won. They'd all still be friends. Eevee looked up at her, and Sam rubbed her head gently. "So, Marisa, I love that dress. That shade of green looks great on you."

Marisa's face was bright red. "Th-thank you," she said, smiling. She fiddled with her pokeballs, thinking of which pokemon to use. She knew she would pick two, one for appealing and one for battling. She thought of who would be the best choice for each, and after a few minutes, had her mind made up. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. This was her first contest, and she was a bit nervous to perform.

Sam noticed how nervous Marisa was, and apparently so did the Eevee. She leaped out of Sam's arms and jumped into Marisa's lap and began rubbing her head against the coordinator. Sam stepped up beside Marisa and said, "Don't worry, you'll do fine. Just think that you're in the forest, practicing, and there's no one around to watch you. And take a deep breath before you go in." She looked at Eevee. "And if that Eevee thinks you'll be okay, I know you will."

Ooc: Okay, I really think at least two of the Elite Four (other than Jesse, since he's participating) should show up. I'm still trying to decide whether or not to bring in Kasai.
Hey, I just thought of something. What if the Eevee's owner showed up at the Contest?!!

Marisa smiled at Eevee and Sam. "Thanks a lot," she replied, as she looked back down at her two pokeballs. "I have the feeling just waiting for the contest to start is a lot worse then the actual contest." She remembered plenty of things that were always worse while waiting for them. Shots. Photos. Performances.
OOC: Oh! Kara should come! Before she was in the Elite Four, she used to be in contests!

Sam nodded in agreement. "I know what you mean. The anticipation of getting my first Pokemon nearly killed me. But the first battle with Ame was no problem for me and Ember. You just have to think of this like you're back in the forest or by the river. It won't be any different."
Eevee rubbed against Marisa again, then sat up abruptly. With a quick yip, she leapt up and dashed out of sight into a throng of people. "Excuse me for a minute." Sam rushed into the crowd, following Eevee's path.

"Alright, I'll wait," Marisa replied, staring back at her two pokeballs. She closed her eyes, remembering the practicing she had done with her pokemon. This woukd be no different. Except, there would be a lot more people watching. She took a deep breath, then opened her eyes again. She felt much more confident now. She looked out into the crowd, trying to spot Sam and the Eevee.

After an excrutiatingly long thought process, he turned back to his everyone. "Sorry about that..." He smiled, realizing they'd went elsewhere. That, or he had wandered off while contemplating a game-plan. "Well then." He frowned, gazing deeply into the crowds. However, without much warning, a passerby blurted out, "there he is!" and a flock of people stormed towards Jesse. Through pure fear and anxiety, he attempted to dive past them all, only to get caught up in the middle. However, he was able to quickly force his way through the crowd that had gathered around the Fourth of the Elite Four. "Phew..." he stammered towards where he thought he'd find Sam and Marisa.

As the crowd moved suddenly, Sam felt her body hit something, and she fell to the ground. Apparently, she had run into Jesse as he tried to escape. She shook her a little, then, standing, she offered her hand to help him back up. "Are you alright?" she asked. But, before he could grab her hand, she spotted Eevee, leaping into the arms of another boy. That must be the Eevee's realy owner. she thought to herself. But, if he was the Eevee's owner, why was he throwing the Pokemon back to the ground?

"Nyah..." Jesse landed with a thump, rubbing his thigh just moments later. An instant after the ordeal, he noticed Sam's hand extended towards him. "Oh, right. Thanks." He smirked, grabbing it to use as leverage to pull himself up off the cold, hardwood floor. He hadn't noticed, however, Sam's eyes trailling off in another direction. He followed her stare, and his gaze fell upon the very same boy and the very same Pokémon. "Sam; isn't that your Eevee?" Jesse inquired as he slowly turned back towards her.

"Sort of," she said, in a slight haze. Who could mistreat such a sweet, kind Pokemon? Sam approached the boy and picked up Eevee, who was now cowering on the ground. The boy seemed angry, his hands in the shape of fists. Sam gave him a quizzical look and asked, "Why are you mistreating this Eevee?"
"Who are you to be asking me about how I treat my Pokemon?!" The boy glared at her, his fists clenched even tighter.
"I'm the girl who found your Eevee on the side of Route 13. I'm the one who take care of it until it was better. I'm the one that is apparently going to keep it." Sam nodded for emphasis.
"You can't do that! It's my Eevee! I captured it and trained it!"
"But apparently, you didn't care about. You never put any 'Lost Eevee' notices up in the Pokemon Center, or anywhere else, for that matter. So, if you don't mind, I have more important people to speak to that you." And, with that, Sam turned and walked back to Jesse and Marisa, the Eevee still shaking in her arms.

"Hey, what happened over there?" Marisa asked, staring at the Eevee, then back up at Sam, "are you two okay?"

"Yeah, we're fine," replied Sam, stroking the Eevee. By now, the Eevee had calmed down and stopped shaking. "It was just the Eevee's former owner. But, apparently he doesn't care about the cutey enough to even look for him. So, apparently, the Eevee belongs to me now. And Eevee doesn't seem to mind that." "Ee!" Eevee said happily.

Marisa glanced over at the Eevee's former trainer. "How could anyone mistreat pokemon like that..?" she wondered aloud, quickly turning her gaze from the man.
OOC: Would anyone mind if I brought Kara here?

"Neglect is an atrocious thing," Jesse agreed, glaring at the Eevee's trainer. "I can't imagine a heart so cold." He shook his head and turned his attention back to his friends. "At least we're all okay, and at least Eevee has a good trainer now." A smile spread across his face. "In your hands, I know it'll become very strong. One day it may even evolve into something exceptionally rare and majestic, like Glaceon." He turned his attention to a rather large clock mounted near the room's high ceiling. "The contest should be starting soon..."

OOC: Alright! Thanks ^_^
Marisa peeked at the clock, then remembered something. "Oh..! I have to change!" she exclaimed, looking around for a dressing room. She spotted one in the corner of the room, and quickly turned to Jesse and Sam. "Excuse me, I-I need to change," she said, quickly dashing to the dressing rooms.
The door leading to the Contest Hall slid open, and a woman with long, slightly curly blonde hair waltzed in. The people milling about in the contest area quickly ran over when they realized who she was. She pushed her way through the crowd of people gathering around her until she found Jesse, a fellow member of the Elite Four. "Hey there!" she called, waving in his direction. She managed to push her way out of the crowd, and she walked over to Jesse and Sam. "How've you been?" she asked him.

Hearing a message directed at him, he sighed deeply, "If that's a fan girl, I swear, I will..." He mumbled something that was undoubtedly inappropriate and slowly turned around. His face suddenly morphed from a frustrated, almost angry look, to an excited, welcoming expression. His blue eyes opened widely and his shoulders shifted upwards. "Kara!" He shouted, walking forward. "I'm doing wonderfully, thanks. What about you? What have you been up to lately?" Before waiting for even the simplest of responses, he interjected, "Hey! Are you in this contest?"

Kara laughed as Jesse spoke. "You have an awful lot of questions, don't you?" she replied, still giggling a bit. She decided to answer his questions. "I'm doing absolutely fabulous, thanks!" she said, answering his first question. "Lately, I've just been traveling around. Since no one has challenged the League for a while, I figured this would be a good time for a little vacation," she added, answering his next question. "I don't know about the contest...is there still time to enter?"
Marisa returned a time later, now clothed in her new dress. She noticed Kara, and her heart almost stopped. Isn't she one of the Elite Four too..? she thought, and Kara's sparkling eyes flickered in her direction. "So, Jesse, who's this? A friend of yours?" she asked him, and Marisa was too nervous to reply herself. She opened her mouth, trying to speak, but no sound came out at all.

Sam stood back a little, allowing the two friends to catch up with each other. She thought to herself, I wonder what I should call this Eevee, now that she's going to stay with me. She turned and walked away a few paces so that she could talk to the Eevee alone. "What do you think I should call you, hm?" The Eevee just looked up at Sam, her head coked to one side, ears perked up and listening intently. "Hm. Let's see... How about... Ella? Do you like that?" The Eevee yipped excitedly, "Ee!" Sam laughed quietly and said, "I'll take that as a yes. So, Ella, I wonder if you will evolve into something rare and magnificent, as Jesse said, even though you're just as magnificent just as you are now. Well, we'll have plenty of time to worry about that in the future, right? For now, we have to focus on cheering for our friends. Okay?" Ella was so excited that she almost jumped out of Sam's arms as they walked back over to the small group of friends.
