Sam found a patch of grass on the outskirts of Astra City. There, she unclipped two Pokeballs and said, "Ember! Sparky! Come on out!" The Growlithe and the Chinchou both appeared in front of her. "All right, you two. We need to train for the gym. You ready?" Both Pokemon nodded and Sam said, "Okay. Ember, use an Ember attack on that branch." Ember did just that and immediately caused a small fire. "Okay, Sparky, put it out with Water Gun!" Sparky shot a jet of water at the flame, causing it to burn out. All that was left was a charred piece of wood.

Out of the bushes, a Heracross and Meditite wandered. "Hera?" The Bug-type watched as the Chinchou and the Growlithe sparked and quenched a fire. "Cross!" It glared, angry that they'd charred one of /his/ trees.
"Tite! Tite, Medi!" The Psychic-type stepped forward, making itself known to the Trainer and her Pokémon. "Meditite! Medi, Tite, Tite!" It scowled her, also annoyed by what she'd done. "Meditite!" Obviously it'd challenged her and her Pokémon to a double battle, anticipating her to accept.

Sam's attention suddenly turned to the Heracross and Meditite, who had just issued a challenge to Ember and Sparky. She stared at the two wild Pokemon for a moment, then said, "I guess I'll take the first move." Then, she turned to Ember and said, "Okay, Ember, you use an Ember attack on the Meditite, and, Sparky, use Thunderwave! Go!" Both Pokemon followed Sam's instructions, directing the attacks at the two wild Pokemon.

Meditite was hit by the attack, but quickly countered with a Hidden Power. Heracross, however, managed to dodge the attack and retaliated with an Aerial Ace on Sparky, which was effective.

Ember attempted to dodge the Hidden Power attack, but to no advantage. He used Growl, then followed with a powerful Ember attack. "Grow!"
"Chin! Chinchou!" Sparky yelped as he was hit by the Aerial Ace. "Sparky! Use Water Gun! While they're still wet, use Thunderwave again!" Sparky executed the plan and waited for the reaction.

Meditite toke the fire-attack, but was not hit by the next two from Sparky. Instead, it used Meditate to wait out it's turn. Meanwhile, Heracross was simultaneously drenched with water and then electrocuted. "Heracross!" It yelped angrily, eventually countering with a Horn Attack and then a Night Slash.

Ember barked at the Meditite and watched as it merely used Meditate. He had been expecting another attack, but the psychic Pokemon made no move to do so. So, he took advantage of the moment and fired an Ember attack at the Meditite.
Sparky, on the other hand, had a bit more trouble. He was able to dodge the Horn Attack, but the Night Slash attack knocked the Chinchou back a bit. "Chinchou! Chin!" The ends of his antennae sparked in anger as he sent off a powerful Thunderwave attack. "Chin."

Meditite, after being struck with the Ember attack, jumped back to it's feet and used another Hidden Power on the Growlithe. "Tite, Tite, Tite! Meditite!" It cried, hitting the Fire-type on it's side.
Meanwhile, Heracross was elecrocuted and paralyzed by the Thunder Wave sent out by the Water- and Electric-type Pokémon. "Heracross, Cross!" It floated upwards, only to dive down in another Horn Attac, which was successful.

"Come on, you two!" Sam yelled encouragingly. "You can take them!" Ember looked at her happily and nodded. He turned back to the Meditite, and leapt at the Meditite, shooting an Ember attack. Just as he stopped, his mouth attempted to clamp down on the Psychic Pokemon in a Bite attack.
Meanwhile, Sparky faced the Heracross. The Horn Attack had stung, but as it hit him, Sparky released a Thunderwave. Then, he backed away speedily, not wanting to get caught in his own attack.

Meditite took both attacks, but not while sitting down. It stood on it's feet, concentrated, and unleashed it's most powerful Hidden Power attack yer. "Meditite, Tite! Ti!" It glared towards it's opponents, realizing that they were pretty evenly matched. "Tite?!" It wondered how it's battle partner was faring.
"Heracross!" The Bug-type responded, having been attacked with another Thunder Wave. Again, in retaliation, it attacked with another Horn Attack, which hit the Chinchou dead on. Just after attacking, the paralysis set in and caused Heracross' body to tense up.

"Grow! Growlithe!" Ember said indignantly as he attempted to dodge the Hidden Power. Most of it hit his right shoulder because of his quick reflexes. "Grow!" he said, firing an Ember attack at just the Meditite. "Lithe! Growlithe!" he Growled(the attack!). "Lithe?" Ember asked his partner.
"Chin! Chinchou!" Sparky replied after having been hit by the Horn Attack from Heracross. "Chou!" he said angrily, he antennae sparking again with his fury. He blasted another Water Gun and followed by a Bubble attack.

Meditite, without hesitation, curled it's legs up like a pretzel and sat perfectly still in what it'd hoped would be a successful Meditate. It continued to sit, unmoved, as the Ember attack hit, regardless of the damage it took.
Heracross, on the other hand, was left lying on the ground from it's paralysis. This being so, it took both the Water Gun and the Bubble attacks from Chinchou. "Hera..." It moaned, eventually standing back to it's feet as the paralysis began to reside. "Cross..." It tried to open up it's wings, but wasn't able to move them quite yet, so was left to stand and wait for another attack.

"Yes! Okay, Sparky, use Water Gun and follow up with another Thunder Wave!" Sparky nodded and shot a column of powerful water, followed by a wave of electricity that was aimed at the Heracross. Then, he waited to see how the Paralysis would effect the Heracross in the next turn.
Ember had just about the same luck. He was surprised that the Meditite was not attacking as much. He figured it was good thing and wouldn't complain. So, he used Leer, which he followed by clamping his jaws down on the Meditite(Bite).

Heracross took the Water-type attack, but managed to dodge the Thunderwave from the Chinchou. "Cross, Hera!" It glared, starting to float up higher to use another attack. Once it reached the peak of it's distance, it faced the Chinchou and plummetted towards it. However, before coming close, the paralysis kicked in, resulting in the Bug-type's crashing aimlessly onto the groun. "Crooo..." It twitched.
Meditite, meanwhile, was able to dodge the Bite attack. And, still calm, it used a Confusion attack on both Sparky and Ember. "Tite." It closed it's eyes and continued meditating (not the attack...xD).

Ember shook off most of Confusion, but was still dazed and couldn't remember who to attack. So, under Sam's orders, whom he still remembered, he looked at the Pokemon in front of him, who turned out to be the Heracross. Out of pure luck, he was able to use a shaky Ember attack at the Heracross.
Unfortunately, Sparky wasn't as lucky. Completely caught off guard by the Confusion, he fell over and used Water Gun straight in the air, which caused him to look like a Chinchou fountain. Thus, he ended his turn without any oves.

Because of the now active paralysis, Heracross could do nothing but glare forward as the fiery attack scorched it's face and back. "Heeerrrr..." It twitched, as though it were slowly gaining the ability to move again. "Crooo..." It winced, quickly feeling the Burn set in.
Meditite, on the other hand, was able to use a quick Hidden Power on the confused Chinchou, which was successful. "Tite..." It closed it's eyes and used Meditate again, increasing it's attack even further.

Ember growled(the attack!) at the two wild Pokemon, hoping it would effect the Meditite more than the Heracross. By now, the Growlithe wasn't as worried about the Heracross because of the Paralysis Sparky had caused it, although he couldn't really remember when it had happened. Speaking of Sparky...
Sparky felt the sting of the Hidden Power, but made no move to counter the attack and continued to sit there, helpless, not knowing what it should do next.

Having taken no damage that turn, Meditite took advantage of the situation and used another Meditate, which would recovered its lost attack strength. "Tite, Meditite..." It's eyes closed at it sat completely still, feeling the energy move through it's body and be distributed more evenly.
Heracross, on the other hand, could do absolutely nothing, for the paralysis was still in effect. Plus, the Confusion had worn off of both Ember and Sparky, so both Meditite and Heracross were in for a very rough battle.

Ember and Sparky shook themselves, dirt flying everywhere. It seemed as though the Confusion went with the dirt as well. Ember glared at the two wild Pokemon more coldly than before, knowing it wouldn't be long before one gave out. The first would be Heracross. He prepared to aim an Ember attack at the Heracross. Just as his mouth opened to attack, he turned and shot it at the unsuspecting Meditite!
Sparky was having a little bit of an easier time. The paralysis had set back in, so he would easily make up for the lost turns during his state of Confusion. He, too, glared at the Heracross and sent a Water Gun toward it, then followed with Thunderwave.

The Psychic-type couldn't help take the attack, as it was still Meditating. And, instead of attacking, it continued using Meditate to further heighten it's attack. "Tiii..." It sat still as stone, now with a burn on its chest and its lower jaw.
Heracross, on the other hand, having been drenched by the Water Gun, took a large amount of damage due to the Thunderwave. However, since it was still in the game, it used another Horn Attack on Sparky.

As the Heracross bore down on Sparky with a Horn Attack, he used a quick Flail to help himself as best he could. Then, he jumped away from the Heracross.
Ember, on the other hand, quickly used Helping Hand. This was his version of the Meditite's Meditate. Then, moving away from the Meditite, he used a speedy Bite attack on the unsuspecting Heracross while Sparky used his Water Gun, Thunderwave combo on the meditating Meditite. Sam was even surprised by her Pokemon's moves, not expecting something like that.

They all took the attacks, but not while sitting down. Heracross, after being hit with Bite, used Night Slash on Ember, dealing a bit of damage. "Heracross, Cross!" It buzzed, floating higher into the air, only to dive down at Sparky in a Horn Attack.

"Grow!" Ember barked, shooting a brief Ember attack at just the Meditite. He knew that Sam only carried one Pokeball, and he figured she'd go for the Heracross to catch. Which is just what she did. As she tossed the empty Pokeball toward the Heracross, Sparky shot a Water Gun at the Meditite, accidentily knocking the Pokeball short of the wild Heracross. Out of no where, before Ember or Sparky could get at it, the Eevee that Sam had found jumped out of her arms and pushed the Pokeball toward the Heracross. Now, it was in range of the wild Pokemon.
While Sam and the Eevee waited to see what would happen with the Pokeball, Ember and Sparky simultaneously used Ember and Thunder Wave on the Meditite. Then, Ember used Helping Hand again, knowing they weren't finished with this wild Pokemon, and that Sparky would need all the help he could get.

Meditite dodged the first attack without any effort, but the second one, Water Gun, was a bit more difficult. This left the Meditite drenched, which wasn't good, especially because of the successful Thundershock that came afterwards. However, knowing that it still had to do its best in the battle, it used a Hidden Power on the Pokéball, launching it at a nearby tree.
Heracross, now free from the attempted capture, used another Horn Attack, which was followed up by a Hidden Power from Meditite. "Herrrrr!" The Bug-type yelled, which was followed by a shreik from the Psychic-type, "Med!"

The young Eevee growled as it noticed the Pokeball to one side. She quickly sprinted over to it, swiped at it with a paw, and sent it flying back to Sam. There, Sam picked it up and threw it back to the Heracross, where it landed directly in front of the Bug Type.
Meanwhile, Ember and Sparky were still battling. Ember and Sparky combined their attacks, Ember and Thunderwave. The air grew extremely hot, causing a bit of Ember's fur to frizz out. He shook it off, feeling a bit of static from the frizziness. Then, and idea popped into his mind.
Ember ran over to Sparky and rubbed his staticky(sp?) fur against the Chinchou. "Chin?" Sparky said, confused. Suddenly, his two antennae lit up and sparked. Then, he showed the wild Pokemon that he was ready to launch a major attack.

Meditite was determined not to be serparated from his friend, Heracross, so he used another Hiden Power to disrupt the handful of attacks sent at him. Heracross, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. He was sucked into the Pokéball, leaving Meditite alone. "Tite!" The Psychic-type shreiked angrily. "Meditite!" He used a combination of Hidden Power and Confusion on both Sparky and Ember, but neither were confused. He was obviously determined not to lose his friend. At the very least, he wanted to go with Sam.

((Wahh! I haven't been on in almost amonth! SO sorry!)) ((Oh, and Sam has no other Pokeball! That was it!)) Sparky's antennae buzzed and sizzled, ready to launch a final blow to the Meditite. But, Sam, not wanting the Meditite to faint as Ember had, told him to only used a small Water Gun. Confused, Sparky hesitantly shot a weak Water Gun, finishing his turn.
Sam returned Ember to his Pokeball and said, "You did a greast job with Sparky. Take a good rest and I'll get you to a Pokemon Center fast. Eevee ran over to the Pokeball, still limping a bit, picked up the Pokeball, and carried it back to Sam. There, she dropped it at the trainer's feet and barked, "Eevee!"

Now completely alone, Meditite could do almost nothing. Nothing except... "TITE!" It used a Hidden Power attack, disrupting the Water Gun attack and sending droplets of water everywhere. "Tite, Meditite, Med!" It got to its feet and darted towards Sam and Sparky. Instead of attacking or defending though, it stared up at the trainer, as if it wanted to be with them. "Meditite, Tite!"
